Bye Bye Servant Leadership

Servant leadership was a crucial stepping-stone into a more humane world of work but…

There are signs in the research that we're at a turning point. Servant-driven leadership tells us “You’re in your role to serve others.”But…this mindset makes it very hard to say no, and there’s a temptation for leaders (and their teams) to be reactive, trying to please everyone.

Can you relate?

What are the consequences of this mindset?

In this Harvard Business Review article the authors propose a shift to noble-purpose leadership, where the core message is: “You’re in your role to make an impact.” This mindset requires more strategic thinking in terms of where to place your efforts (time and energy).

Here are three areas where the authors suggest managers can shift their lens towards noble-purpose leadership:

💫Employee interactions

💫Decision making

💫Coaching

How might this shift impact your organization?

What if a noble-purpose leadership lens united our teams in pursuit of making a difference?
