This is what drains my energy... because...

Updated: May 10, 2023

As you sit and breathe with this prompt, what comes up for you?

It is helpful to identify habits that drain our energy in order to live and work well.

Listed below ⬇ are 7 seven habits that might drain your energy and some thought-provoking questions to support your energy conservation efforts.

1. Trying hard to please others.

What are your limits? How can you establish and communicate your boundaries?

2. Being overly too self-critical.

What is your mindset about yourself and your abilities? Does your mindset need some reframing? "Let's face it. If you don't see anything positive about yourself, how are you ever going to feel energized, happy, and capable?"

3. Holding on to anger and resentment.

How can you mindfully and courageously reflect on your thoughts, emotions and concerns? What support do you need to move forward?

4. Worrying and overthinking.

What can you control and what can't you control? What can you do to focus on your responsibility and what is in your control?

5. Mindless use of social media.

How are you using social media? Is social media helping you learn, grow, and build meaningful relationship that align with your goals?

6. Failing to master your sleep.

Do you have a regular sleep pattern? Is there anything you can do to improve the quality of your sleep by adjusting your pre-rest routine?

7. Eating unhealthy junk as food.

Are you getting enough nutrients and water to positively impact your energy, mood, and productivity? What can you do to get enough nutrients for your body on a daily basis and to quit unhealthy fueling habits?
